Queensland Seniors Month

Queensland Seniors Month provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, facilitate community participation, and enhance community connections, aligning with the Queensland Government’s vision of building age-friendly communities in Queensland.

In 2023, Queensland Seniors Month will be celebrated from Sunday 1 October to Tuesday 31 October.

Queensland Seniors Month includes United Nations International Day of Older Persons (1 October) and National Grandparents Day (29 October), days that recognise the important contribution of older people in their families and communities.

The Queensland Government funds the Council on the Ageing Queensland to coordinate Seniors Month on its behalf.
